Curiosity Hub

About Curiosity Hub

Basically everything we're curious about.

Why are foreigners called farang in Thailand? Why do we dream? What is time, really? Curiosity Hub starts from a question, any question about the world. It can come from history, science, philosophy, language, nature or everyday life, and we follow it until there's a real answer, or an honest "nobody knows yet".

Each story is first made as a short documentary for YouTube, with maps, old prints and paintings, and hand-drawn animation. This blog is the written version. It has the same story and the same pictures, plus the full list of sources, so you can read at your own pace and check every claim.

How the stories are made

  • Research first. Every fact comes from a source listed at the end of the post. Where experts disagree, we say so and give both sides.
  • Real images. Paintings, engravings, manuscripts and photographs come from public-domain or openly licensed collections, mostly Wikimedia Commons. Each one is credited.
  • Drawn by us. The maps and the notebook-style illustrations were made for the videos. The illustrations were created with AI tools and animated by hand in code.
